The commission called for a small and economic summer house on the seashore. The main component of the house consists of a spacious covered terrace with a beautiful view of the sea with many islets. The terrace serves as a living room and provides access to the other rooms. During the summer, life takes place mostly outdoors. The house is solid brick build with a ventilated roof to provide cool environment during the summer months. It is built on a pedestal that contains so called “gusterna” - an underground water tank of approx. 60 m3 capacity, which covers the annual water demands for both the house and the garden, as is customary on the island.
