Project: 2009, Implementation: 2010

Renovation of a semidetached house from 1920s. The house was originally built as a part of development consisting of standardized semi-detached houses built in the spirit of the English arts-and-crafts movement in the Břevnov neighbourhood of Prague. The houses are located in north-south oriented gardens with entrances from the street from the south side. The project modernizes the building to suit the contemporary living needs. We merge the original two apartments into one. We propose a new interior layout, moving the staircase into the centre of the building and connecting the living area with the garden. The proposed changes incorporate a new glassed-in dinning room that connects the interior of the house with the slant garden with fruit trees. The proposed renovation incorporates new technologies to improve the building's energy efficiency.the energetic efficiency. The house is proposed as a low energy building using a controlled ventilation system.
